Ever blink and it is 3 weeks later? That sort of happened. Apparently there was also a major national holiday in there as well. Ah well! Let's review what happened 4 weeks ago!
Mitzi came to visit! Which means I have access to loads of pictures that she takes when she has her niece and nephews nearby. I even figured out how to save them to my computer and find them again to post here. I amaze myself sometimes!
Mitzi arrived right in the middle of Vacation Bible School. Which means she joined us every evening in order to keep an eye on the underage member of the family. It was an extremely low key VBS, but the children loved it and have asked to go back next year, which means it was a success. Yea God!
The boys and Molly also had swimming lessons the week Mitzi visited, which worked out so well for me. We signed up with a new pool this year and I wasn't sure how it would go. A bonus was that John and I could be in the pool while the lesson was taking place. This was great because it meant I wasn't spending an hour trying to keep him from jumping into the pool (my predicament last summer). On the downside, he threw a major tantrum (something that occurs with some frequency lately #2YearOldProblems) when it was time to leave the pool area. Having Mitzi in town meant that she could stay home while he napped and I could just lounge by the pool in complete relaxation...except when Molly cut her finger and it was bleeding profusely or when nature called and Molly had issues with her swimming suit...#MollyProblems.
Also, Mitzi was present for the arrival of our disco ball. Oh, yeah, that's right, we have a disco ball...for the kitchen! Epic Dance Parties just got Epic-er.
Naturally, we also took Mitzi to the library and park where we taught her just how quickly one can lose a 2 year old and a 5 year old. But, everyone was located pretty quickly and everyone was all smiles. Especially with the promise of Friday special on the horizon. (Nutella sandwiches, carrots, apples slices, and chips)
Sunkist served the way it is meant to be served. With a side of The Great Dalmuti.
On Saturday we attended the evening Mass and then headed to the new microbrewery for an evening of Irish music and beer. Everyone had a really wonderful time (Molly and John dancing only added to this), though Will was disappointed when the band returned and did not continue to play Irish music.
The next morning we got up and headed to the beach. The waves were pretty crazy and the flags went from yellow to double red while we were there. But, it was time for us to leave anyway, so no problems on our end.
It's always fun to have Mitzi come to visit. I view it as a mini-vacation for me. We play a lot of games, stay up late watching ridiculous movies, drink sunkist and eat cheddar and sour cream chips. What's not to like? Therefore, I elected to go visit her a couple of weeks later and we did it all again.
Oh, and the Tour started. So, though Dom had been playing the Euros in our backyard, that has been sidelined while they recreate the Tour on the streets of the neighborhood. I hope the neighbor kids realize the Olympics are just a couple of weeks away. They are really in for some fun sports themed imaginative play.
