We all returned to Florida on June 12
and thus completed five weeks on the road. John, by this point, had spent more of his infancy on the road than in his actual home. And he did marvelous. A rough estimate has us in the car for 48 hours as we traveled to Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, back to Oklahoma, and then back to Florida. The other three are road warriors already, but John proved he can hang with the big kids. Maybe the World Cup in Canada next year isn't such a bad idea....
I will return to the subjects of Oklahoma and reunification with Eric, but as I have not blogged in a couple of weeks, I thought I would just jump in to present day activities. First, John is smiling! He is a happy little guy (though he can also be a quite sad little guy...particularly in the evening). But, the mornings are a bright spot. The other three will congregate around him and do their best to get him to smile and than yell about it. Loudly. John is also attempting to verbalize. Will in particular thinks this is hilarious. John will grow up thinking he is made for stand-up comedy.and thus completed five weeks on the road. John, by this point, had spent more of his infancy on the road than in his actual home. As I have commented before, John has a very strong resemblance to Will. It helps that John sits in the same bouncy chair and has the same blankets and clothes that Will wore...but you will see what I mean in a little bit.
We had John's 2-month appointment last week. He is 15 pounds and 1 ounce. That is pretty big. They don't bother with the percentile charts at these appointments. To put this in perspective, I know Dom was 16 lbs at his 9 month and I don't think Molly or Will made it to 20 pounds by a year.
A picture of Molly. I have been enjoying doing her hair much more since we cut it. It helps that she doesn't scream and writhe, but the flower hair accessories we purchased at the Dollar Tree (I love that store!) also help.
Last night, as has become the norm, John was pretty upset any time he was put down...or any time I wasn't holding him. Despite his inability to actually talk, he communicated his wish pretty well with the way his shirt is folded. We decided to honor his request.
Plus, Will would be inconsolable if we gave away his doppelganger. (I'm pretty sure that is a picture of Will at least at 4 months. When we showed Will this particular picture he wanted to know which one was him...as his brother was sitting in the onesie that he is currently wearing...right next to him...silly Will)

Love to see that smile on John's face. What a cutie!
Doppelganger is really the only word for it. If not for the little bit of hair and outfit giveaway they could be pictures of the same child. I know Will loves the comparison and probably wanted to emphasis it but the kid has a point.
Keep giving me ways to enjoy my Godson, please. Loving these pictures!
