Due to living in a temperate climate, we chose to buy a fake tree this year. I had some guilt over this, but it sort of disappeared when the tree went up extremely easily and there were no needles and you didn't have to constantly remember to water it. When we move north again, I will gladly pick up the tradition again to chop down our own tree, but for now, I'm fine with this substitute.
Nothing beats waking up Christmas morning with kids. I loved hearing their door creak open and the excitement in their voices as they saw that Santa had been there.
Everyone got wonderful presents and we took a few breaks to test some of them out. Including a fairy tale book that Dom at first scoffed at, but then wanted to read over and over and over again.
You can see a little evidence that we totally played into the girl stereotype gifts this year. Molly got loads of clothes, dress-up attire, jewelry, and baby things. Including the magical disappearing juice bottle. The boys were really impressed with this and immediately dubbed it the "goo bottle", which is a pretty accurate name for it, if you think about it.
We got a meal delivered to us from Jack Stack. Dom apparently loves ribs. And everyone enjoyed playing with the dry ice that came with it.
We also are the proud owner of an ant farm. Though the children have some theological questions about what happens to ants when they die and will they be resurrected at the end of the world. I just think the tracks they make are really cool.
And, Molly got a jewelry box. She wasn't really that impressed, but I know that she will come around eventually. Ok, that does it for my super late posts. Now I can start posting about things that may or may not have happened recently. There is nothing in the pictures that will let you tell the difference.
