A couple days after finding a Christmas tree, the kids and I joined up with Eric in Oklahoma to celebrate his brother, Brian's, graduation. It was a beautiful day and the kids did a really great job of sitting through the graduation ceremony.
As much as I enjoy seeing my family, I love the adult to child ratio in the Buschelman household. Especially when Grandpa takes all three.
Dom is never long without his Cincinnati Reds hat. Which was a safer choice in this particular arena than his trusty Jayhawk hat.
Molly flashing a mischievous smile. Please, feel free to compliment her pigtails.
Liz's brother's family came for the graduation and brought Christmas presents for the kids. Which were awesome. The boys each got Nebraska football jerseys which they have worn on a weekly/daily basis ever since (it helps that the particular red of the jerseys matches the red worn by the Jayhawks when they won the Orange Bowl in 2008. Of which we have a video...which we watch on a yearly basis, or anytime we want to make ourselves feel better after a particularly bad loss...so, yeah, we watch it a lot). The boys also got some pretty cool airplanes that gave them literally hours of entertainment for the rest of that day and the days to come.
Molly received a Nebraska cheerleader outfit that she wore adorably. And it came in very handy when there was a diaper malfunction shortly before Brian's commissioning ceremony. I hope people noted the giant N and didn't think we were disrespecting anyone with an Oklahoma Sooners cheerleader.
She also received a toy. That I think is genius. It is a Minnie Mouse with various dresses that snap on and off. Which means she can request to change Minnie a million times a day and it doesn't take longer than half a second to snap in place. And the shoes are big enough that they weren't lost immediately. It took at least a week back at our house....
And the boys liked her gift as well, but quickly got back to flying their aircrafts around the student union.
The boys have also requested I mention that during the lunch that followed Brian's graduation, they got to sit at the boys' table while Mom and Molly sat at the girls' table. Because we are girls. They look forward to recreating this event at some point in the future.
