Baptism

Saturday we had the great joy of having our son Dominic baptized, along with our niece and God-daughter Rose Reddig. Lots of family (1 sister and 3 sets of grandparents) were here in Dayton to celebrate with us, as well as several friends and those united with us in prayer. Just like his mother when she was baptized, Dom cried the whole time!! But nobody minded that much, and everyone agreed with Father Dave when he said: "They are Jayhawks, they are cousins, and they are beautiful!" We had a great time this weekend, thanks to all for the gifts we received and for the love and support from everyone. Thanks be to God!!

Mass started out a little hectic for Dom; he didn't appreciate being changed.
Dominic was quiet during the actual rite. Notice the entourage of children at the back of the church. Baptism at St Helen is a community event.

Receiving the light of Christ.

Liesel, Eric, Dominic, Robert, Rose, Katie - Parents, Godparents, children.

Our parents with us in the Holy Family chapel. Dominic's gown is an antique - 115 years old, owned by my great-grandmother (my mom's grandmother).

Having fun with Grandpa on the last day.

Check for all the other photos in the online album. We love you all, thanks for sharing this special day with us!!
